The women’s badminton team played Vintage on Seniors Night for the final game of its season on April 24. In 15 matches, Davis defeated Vintage 12-3. They were 7-1 in singles and 5-2 in doubles. Although there was a small crowd, both teams gave it their all for Senior Night, in which both teams show their appreciation to their outgoing seniors. “We just wanted to make our seniors proud since it was their last game,” junior Hannah Yoo said. Junior Phoebe Levine was victorious in her singles match, which occurred before her doubles match. “It was good. I am proud of how I played,” Levine said. Levine felt that her team was in a very good position following the 7-1 team victory in the first round of singles, especially since 8 overall match victories was all that was needed to win. “I feel great. I am happy that mostly everybody got dubs and I’m glad we went off on a good note,” Levine said. Although Yoo lost her singles match, she was content with her team’s performance. “I feel pretty good. I mean there are more things I can work on which I will probably work on for the MELS tournament, but I felt pretty good playing at rank 4, which is not where I usually play. […] I am really proud of how my team played,” Yoo said. After this victory the Davis team is second in league and has a 15-3 record, with all 3 losses to Vacaville. On Friday, the team will be sending their top players in singles and doubles to a tournament called MELS. Both Levine and Yoo are going to this tournament.
